The Health Care Payment Learning & Action Network (LAN) Payer Collaborative (PC) held its second virtual meeting on February 4, 2016. Andrea Caballero, Program Director for the Catalyst for Payment Reform (CPR), presented feedback received to date from PC participants on the APM measurement approach, and facilitated discussion on metrics for each market segment. Ms. Caballero encouraged the members to participate in the APM measurement pilot, and also garnered feedback from the panel to determine the feasibility and timing of the APM measurement pilot, and to further understand the members’ primary considerations in their decisions to participate in the pilot. Participants in the APM measurement pilot will be confirmed by February 11, 2016, and those participants will be invited to a preliminary training session.

To achieve the goal of better care, smarter spending, and healthier people, the U.S. health care system must substantially reform its payment structure to incentivize quality, health outcomes, and value over volume. The Health Care Payment Learning and Action Network (LAN) was established as a collaborative network of public and private stakeholders, including health plans, providers, patients, employers, consumers, states, federal agencies, and other partners within the health care community.
