Summary
On June 15, 2016, the Guiding Committee (GC) of the Health Care Payment Learning & Action Network (LAN) held a teleconference to discuss the LAN’s progress and future efforts of its work groups. GC Co-chair Mark McClellan opened the meeting by describing the LAN’s milestones over the previous year and noting its progress. He emphasized that as the LAN moves into its next phase, its focus will shift to implementation. GC Co-chair Mark Smith outlined the goals of the meeting which included gaining GC input on how the LAN should support the implementation of its recommendations; discussing how PBP and episode payment models overlap and interact; and discussing implications of the Medicare Assistance and Chip Reauthorization Act (MACRA) for the LAN’s work.
