Summary

The Guiding Committee (GC) of the Health Care Payment Learning & Action Network (LAN) hosted a teleconference  on February 11, 2016 to the discuss the LAN’s priorities as it moves into its second operational year. GC Co-chair Mark Smith reviewed the LAN’s top five priorities for the coming year, and GC Co-chair Mark McClellan solicited feedback on the GC’s preliminary plans to create a new work group whose purpose will be to identify and develop steps to reduce payment reform costs and increase the impact of payment reform evaluation. Lewis Sandy, Chair of the CEP Work Group, provided GC members with a brief summary of the results from the CEP Work Group’s February 8, 2016 meeting, and sought feedback on their approach to developing a joint replacement “toolkit.” Finally, Alison Shippy of CMS reviewed the plans and preparations for the upcoming LAN 2016 Spring Summit that will take place April 25-26 at the Sheraton Tysons Tysons Corner, Virginia.

The Health Care Payment Learning and Action Network (LAN) was established as a collaborative network of public and private stakeholders, including health plans, providers, patients, employers, consumers, states, federal agencies, and other partners within the health care community.
